The Network and Data Service uses the extensive Cell C network infrastructure in South Africa. If the Cell C signal strength is weak and your phone is set to roaming (recommended), you will roam onto the Vodacom Network at no additional airtime or data cost. | |
There is no monthly premium or payment required to keeping your SIM card active and for you to enjoy the Double Airtime and Double Data benefit. Monthly Premiums are applicable to our Connect range of products that also gives you additional airtime over and above the Double Airtime and Double Data benefit. | |

What will cause my SIM card to be deactivated? | |
Your SIM card will remain active for you to use as long as it is used. If no usage is detected after 60 days from the last time you used it, it will be deactivated. | |
Any airtime and data balance on that SIM and mobile number will be lost when you SIM is deactivated. | |
If your SIM card is deactivated you must call customer Care and request another SIM card. A new number will then be allocated. | |

How can I get Double Airtime and Double Data on my current mobile Number? | |
Dial Customer Care (135) and request to port your current number onto your uConnect card. | |
You can only port a Prepaid number not a contract number. | |
When you Port to uConnect, you will lose all your data and airtime on your existing number, so use it up before giving us a call to port. | |
You can only port your current number out to another Network after 60 days from date you Ported your current number onto uConnect SIM. | |
What can I do if I lose my SIM card or phone or if my phone is stolen? | |
Call Customer Care on 0861 010 003 to block your number and blacklist your phone and request another SIM. | |
Do I lose my mobile number if I lose my SIM? | |
No. Call our Customer Care number and report your SIM Lost / Stolen / Damaged. They will block the SIM and get another SIM to you. One you have it, call them and request a SIM SWAP. The airtime and data on the lost SIM will not be lost. However, do this quickly before the 60 day no usage rule kicks in. | |

Purchase a Standard Cell C airtime Voucher, watch it double and then convert your purchased airtime to Data by Dial *147# , or | |

How long does my Airtime and Data Last? | |
Purchases airtime lasts for 90 days. | |
Free airtime lasts for 30 Days. | |
All Data (Purchased or Double Data) lasts for 30 days. | |
How can I get another SIM? | |
Call Customer Care: 135 (Free) from your SIM or 0861 010 003 from any other number | |
How can I stop my airtime being used up by data or phone Apps? | |
Set your Apps up to only update when you connected to a Wi-Fi. | |
Purchase airtime. It doubles up and then convert the purchased airtime to data by dialling *147#. | |
Purchase Double Data through the App. This will prevent internet traffic using up your airtime. | |
How can I ensure the best signal strength at all times? | |
Set you phone up to roam. If the Cell C signal is not strong in the area you are in it will automatically roam onto the Vodacom network at no extra cost. | |
If you signal strength is still bad and its in an area you live or work, call Customer Care and we will get a Technician to visit you area to see what can be done. | |
Can I use my SIM outside of South Africa? | |
Sorry no. We suggest you leave a voicemail message on you South African number telling your callers you are out of country. | |
We also suggest that you purchase a prepaid SIM immediately once at your destination to use in that country. It will save you a lot of money. | |
Can I use my SIM in a modem or mobile data device? | |
Yes. We suggest you give us a call to get another SIM and then use our App to purchase and load data onto that SIM. | |
Can I change my mobile number? | |
Yes. Call our customer Care Number and request one of our service agents. | |
What other benefits / services can uConnect offer me? | |

Does my data expire? | |
Data is valid for 30 Days. If you don’t use it, you can on the day prior to it expiring roll over (extend) you expiry date by another 10 days at a cost of R5.00. The R5.00 is taken from your Purchased airtime balance. | |
Am I warned when I’m running out of data? | |

Check you data balance by dialling *101# or in uConnect App. If you have no data you can either dial *147# to select to use airtime as data or you can purchase data through uConnect App and get FREE DATA when you purchase data. | |
Can a Give / Gift data to somebody else? | |
Yes if you have data and sufficient purchased airtime. You can only Give / Gift data to another mobile number on uConnect Network by Dialling *147#. You will be charged R10.00 when you Give / Gift data. The R10.00 will be deducted from you Purchased airtime balance. Remember the data you giving will still expire on the expiry date displayed. |
